The idea of forming the Coffee-Bar Cowboys clan was hatched, at the end of a great evening, at the Ace Cafe, London, by some members of the Brit Iron Rebels who were attending an event at that historic Cafe.

Our name goes back over forty years to when swarms of motorcyclists used London's North Circular Road for nightly 'burn ups' and adopted the Ace Cafe as their pitstop - they were known as ton-up boys or coffee-bar cowboys.

The Coffee-Bar Cowboys Clan is now the official European Clan of the Brit Iron Rebels and is currently made up of members from six different European countries.

Clan members lean more to the traditional 60's rocker style and vibe - it's all about bikes, beers, thumping Rockabilly music and Brylcream (for those with enough hair remaining).

Although, due to the distances involved, much of our contact with each other is via the Internet, we meet at various runs, gigs and festivals throughout Europe, and have an annual get-together at the Ace in January.

To be considered as prospective member of the Coffee-Bar Cowboys clan, it's neccessary to first be a member of Brit Iron Rebels Worlwide.

BRIT IRON REBELS

The Brit Iron Rebels (BIR) was established in January 2004 as a worldwide group of individuals focused on the preservation, restoration, and promotion of true classic and retro styled British motorcycles, their related events, discussions, and camaraderie between people around the world who share a passion for the same.

The BIR is a club based on the retro style of the Rockers of the 50’s and 60’s in Great Britain. Born on the Internet with regional worldwide chapters called clans, the BIR currently spans ten countries worldwide, as of 2008.
